About

Carlos Prio-Touzet and Jacqueline Gonzalez Touzet opened Touzet Studio in 2004 and work from Little Havana. They design buildings for Miami's heat and storms, and Jacqueline Gonzalez Touzet writes and speaks about climate resilience. AIA Miami has named her its Architect of the Year.

In Coconut Grove, the studio designed Grove Central, a transit-oriented development with 402 residences and more than 100,000 square feet of retail. On Lincoln Road, the team designed the Nike flagship with a perforated concrete sunscreen on its facade, and AIA Miami gave that project a Divine Detail honor in 2020.

AIA Florida gave the firm a 2018 Merit Award for Masonry in Design for a retail building where the team took cues from Dade County pine forests and coral-rock bluffs. The studio has worked on 800 Lincoln Road, the 1936 Burdines building by Robert Law Reed. If you want a building that respects Miami's history and its weather, this studio has done both on Lincoln Road.
