About

Peruvian-born designer Deborah Wecselman left Ralph Lauren to found her Miami firm in 2000. She keeps a boutique practice in Little River with a team of architects and designers, and she stays involved in each project herself.

Wecselman mixes vintage pieces and rich textures into modern houses. She brings contemporary art and custom furniture into the same rooms, and she approaches a house with an architect's precision and a collector's instincts. Her firm describes her work as classic modern, with clean lines and rich materials. She integrates historic pieces with refined architectural detail, and she anchors each interior in the client's personal story. Architects on her team help her refine floor plans and detailing.

Florida Design talked with her about a retreat she designed on Key Biscayne, and LUXE published a tour of her Pinecrest house. Voyage MIA has interviewed her about her path from Ralph Lauren to her own firm. If you collect art, ask to see how she plans rooms around a collection before you sign on.
